Malatang originated from Niuhua Town, Wutongqiao District, Leshan City, Sichuan Province, on the bank of the Minjiang River. At first, it was the boatman and the tracker who created the simple and unique way of eating Malatang. In the Sichuan River Basin from Chengdu to the Three Gorges, due to the turbulent currents, trackers have become an indispensable scenery. After pulling the fibers, they piled up stones on the riverside, set up earthen pots, picked up some branches as dry firewood to light a fire, scooped up a few Piaojiang water, everything is made from local materials. If there are vegetables, put them in. If there are no vegetables, you can pull some wild vegetables to fill them up. Then add sea pepper, pepper and other seasonings. Rinse and eat. This way of eating quickly spread along the river because of its simplicity.
