Part 2: Writing an Argument
In this part of the assignment, you will write an argumentative paragraph that
explains what you think is the most effective way for marginalized groups to gain
more civil rights. In your argument, you should consider the types of civic
engagement that have expanded civil rights in the past. Be sure to use evidence to
support your argument. Your paragraph should be three to five sentences in length
and include a topic sentence, supporting details, and a concluding sentence. It
should also use proper spelling and punctuation. Use the rubric to evaluate your
paragraph. This part of the assignment is worth 10 points.
