A gerbil is fed a normal diet including 14C-lysine. After a period of time on this diet biopsies are taken from several tissues and analyzed for radioactivity. 14C is detected in glycogen from muscles and liver, triglycerides from adipose tissue, and nucleic acids isolated from all tissues.
