Why do Presidents prefer executive agreements
over treaties?
Treaties require 2/3 approval by the Senate; executive
agreements require majority agreement among
Senators only.
Executive Agreements do not have to be approved by
a super majority of Senators.
Treaties allow for more countries to be included in the
agreement; executive orders are limited to only
agreements between the US and another goverment.
Executive Agreements must only be approved by the
Senate; treaties must be approved by both the Senate
and the House
