First, clearly define them as done by Losco. Then, compare and contrast each of these 3 principles
so that their differences from each other is clear. Use specific examples from your Losco, Chapter
3 reading for clarity in your response ( 50 points).
Second, in chapter 3, federalism is discussed further. Compare and contrast a unitary and
confederal system and include an example or two to clarify their difference. What makes the
United States' federal system different than these first two systems (30 points)?
Finally, given current events in the United States today, how is federalism reflected in debates over
the use of marijuana? Be sure to discuss the relevance of Gonzalez v. Raich and your opinion
(voice) in your answer. How does this decision reflect the 3 principles related to this question? (20
